Charles de Gaulle airport has always been a problem for us. It’s very large and we’ve had to run through it multiple times to catch our next flight. And I mean running to not miss our next flight!!
This time was completely different. We went calmly from terminal M to terminal F via a train ride, a security checkpoint, and passport control. We arrived at our gate about an hour early, so we stopped by a very busy Air France lounge to wait. The Air France leg down to Nice, France was totally ordinary. The view outside the plane window was not ordinary, it was spectacular.
After our Uber ride from the Nice airport to Monte Carlo, we arrived at the Hotel Hermitage. The hotel was incredible and we felt was the nicest hotel that we’ve ever stayed in.
Our son and daughter-in-law Alex and Brenda, who were joining us on the cruise, made it to the hotel about
2 hours before us. We connected (our rooms were right next to each other) and
spent time catching up. We then went to dinner early at the Pacific Café just a
short walk from the hotel. We walked past the world-famous Monte Carlo casino
and a whole slew of very fancy automobiles-many Ferraris, Bentleys, and Rolls Royces, to name just a few.
We hit the sack early (8pm)
due to jet lag.
|The detail in the crown molding was incredible.|
|We also viewed the Crystal Serenity, which had arrived earlier.|
